Curriculum

In the Master in Sports Management you will have to take all the compulsory subjects, which cover the main areas belonging to the sports sector, as well as some specialised subjects related to marketing and communication in sport, management of sports entities and innovation and digital transformation of sport. In addition, you will have the possibility to complement the curriculum with the choice of 4 elective subjects.

You will also have to complete a group Final Master's Project that will consist on developing a business plan, the implementation of an improvement plan for an existing business or a research study applied to the sports sector.

Master's final project

The Master's Final Project consists of the presentation of a project or study in which the participants must apply the knowledge learned during the course and use instruments and methods to identify and solve problems. This is a group project that has the support of an expert mentor in sports management.

Qualification obtained

Once you have passed the program, you will obtain an electronic degree (e-Título) for the Máster de Formación Permanente en Gestión Deportiva issued by the Pompeu Fabra University

The e-Título is an authentic digital degree, issued in pdf format and electronically signed, with the same legal validity as if it were in paper format.

The objective of the Master in Sports Management methodology is that the student can obtain practical tools that lead to the proper management of the departments that make up a sports entity. To do this, you will have professors responsible for training you in specific areas of the sports sector, areas related to marketing and communication, sports management and its areas of action and innovation in the sector and its digital transformation. Group Master's Final Project

The Master's Final Project is an applied research project in which it is intended that students use the knowledge learned and show they know how to use the instruments and methods for the identification and resolution of problems that will have been dealt with throughout the course. It is a group project that has the support of a mentor throughout the course.

Individualized support

You will have a mentor specialized in sports management according to the characteristics of your project. The mentor will help you identify teachers, projects, companies, sports entities, and reference activities with which to contrast and enrich your project.

Admission and enrolment

Our admission process consists of a rigorous evaluation of each application to preserve the quality of the group as well as the training, experience, and work capacity of all students.

Who can apply?

University graduates.

The academic management requires a letter of recommendation for the evaluation of the candidate (there is the possibility of sending two letters so that a greater academic and professional perspective of the candidate can be obtained). These letters must be signed or stamped by the person or institution that wrote them.

Those students who do not have Spanish as one of their mother tongues or who did not have it as a teaching language in their training studies, must have at least a B2 level of Spanish (Common European Framework of Reference) accredited by a certified institution, as well as to pass fluently, where necessary, a personal interview with the academic director. In case of not showing fluency in oral comprehension, additional certifications or tests may be requested that allow the student to adequately follow the sessions.

Applications for admission will be evaluated when you complete the following steps:

  • Complete the online admission form.
  • Pay the €120 admission fee. This amount will be returned if you are not admitted.
  • Send the following documents through the online platform e-registrar:
    • Presentation letter or video
    • CV
    • Scanned copy of university degree (if you are in the last year of your degree, you can provide your academic records)
    • Scanned copy of Transcript of Records. Make sure that it includes your GPA (Grade Point Average)
    • Scanned copy of ID Card or Passport
    • Passport-size photo (jpg format)

Additional documents may be requested in certain cases.
Application rounds are subject to the number of places available on the program.

Admission

  • The Admissions Committee will select the candidates on the basis of a personal or CV-based interview.
  • You will be notified of the admission decision in writing.

Enrolment

  • Registration must be paid within a 15 days after the admission.
  • Once the letter of acceptance to the program has been received, you will need to submit the following original documents before the course begins:
    • Stamped and/or authenticated photocopy of your university degree.
  • If you have a foreign degree you may need to submit additional documents.
  • Paying the reservation fee (25% of the program's tuition fees) is essential in order to reserve your place
  • If you pay the tuition fees by bank transfer you will be required to introduce the program code. The program code for this course is 1285.
  • The remaining tuition fees must be paid 2 weeks before the start of the course.
