Admission requirements and registration

Admission requirements

A university degree, preferably in Linguistics, Philology or Translation. Other degrees such as Law, Journalism or Psychology are also accepted if candidates can provide proof of 80 hours of General Linguistics knowledge (phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics). If this is not the case, they should complete the relevant modules from the Master in Linguistics and Technological Applications offered by the UPF, or relevant studies from another university.

A high level of English reading comprehension is also required.

Registration process

Procedure:

1. Enrolment

  • Complete the on line admissions form.
  • Pay an enrolment fee of 120 € which will be returned to you if your application is unsuccessful.
  • Send your curriculum vitae and university qualification to docs@idec.upf.edu in order to take part in the selection process.

2. Admission

  • IDEC and the academic staff for the program will select candidates via personal or curricular interviews.
  • Notice of acceptance on to the program will be given in writing.

3. Registration

1. Once you have received a letter of acceptance on to the program and before the beginning of the course you must present the following documentation:

    1. Stamped or approved university qualification
    2. Academic record
    3. Passport size photograph
    4. Photocopy of ID or passport

2. Payment of fees. You can pay fees in the following ways:

    1. By cash
    2. By check
    3. By credit card
    4. By bank draft, in which case you must send a copy as proof of payment by e-mail to docs@idec.upf.edu or fax to +34 93 542 21 53, indicating the code number -1135- of the course and the name of the participant.
