The postproduction of video and the creation of visual effects are widely used in the various fields of audiovisual production: advertising, production for television, special effects for cinema, corporate videos, etc.

The Postgraduate Programme in Visual effects (DEV) fills a void in this type of training in Spain. It provides an overview of the problems involved in the creation of visual effects, from both a technical and production point of view, and outlines the solutions applied by professionals, based on the most current resources provided by technology for the digital manipulation of images.

The main objective of this postgraduate is to study, and put into practice, the possibilities offered to creators by digital postproduction tools and systems, and which methodologies should be used to create the magic characterising productions of this type, whether for the composition of different sources of real images or for integrating real and synthetic images.

Special emphasis is placed on specific computer animation techniques in the special effects field, as they imply a turning point in respect of the possibilities and the effectiveness of the visual effects.

The Postgraduate Programme in Visual Effects is aimed at graduates, diploma-holders and students with private university awards in degrees such as Audiovisual Communication, Filmmaking, Fine Arts, etc. It is also aimed at people with a background in classical cinema and computer animators wishing to specialise in special effects, as well as those related to special effects needing to recycle towards the digital field.
