This Postgraduate programme in Rehabilitation and Construction Law forms part of the training syllabus of the Master's in Property, Town Planning and Construction Law.

The intention of this Postgraduate programme in Rehabilitation and Construction Law (DDER) is to provide an answer to the specialised training needs of legal professionals and experts in building and construction matters. In recent years, this area has undergone a major transformation due to the enacting of the Spanish Law on Building Regulations (LOE) and Technical Building Code. The LOE provides the legal framework for building and construction activity with which the treatment of this discipline commences, complemented by the studying of Construction Law institutions.

At the end of the course, the participants of the DDER should be capable of analysing and providing specific answers to problems arising from the transfer mechanisms of building rights, property development, the enforcement of works contracts, and so on. Town planning and building rehabilitation will also be specifically deal with in Chapter IV on rehabilitation and housing of the law on Sustainable Economy. The civil liability arising from building, the acquisition of housing and commercial premises, the constituting under co-ownership systems of buildings, residential estates, housing co-operatives and special time-share communities. Moreover, participants will acquire a practical overview of the various forms of leases, the problems arising from constructions on properties and leased housing, and the legal system of protected housing.

The intention of this Postgraduate course in Rehabilitation and Construction Law is to provide specialised training to meet the professional needs of lawyers, Public Authority employees and legal consultants of estate agents, financial institutions or architect studios. The subjects of the programme will be analysed in class with various type of material such as case law, case studies, public deeds, plans and transparencies enabling participants to become familiar with each stage, both legal and technical, of building process, and the ex ante and ex post difficulties of property construction.

The Postgraduate course in Building Law and Rehabilitation is aimed both at young graduates wishing to acquire a legal specialisation and technical knowledge of Construction Law , as well as professionals wishing to participate in a specialised legal refresher course in order to broaden their practical training.
