In this Master of Science, students learn how to identify innovation within or outside existing companies,which may provide opportunities for successful new business development. They will learn how to define a strategic plan based on a sustainable business model. Students learn how to execute a business plan either as a new company (as pure entrepreneurs) or inside a company (as business development directors). They have the chance to interact with successful entrepreneurs in a grassroots way (mentors) as well as through workshops that highlight best business practices. Students will have the possibility of participating in an internship with an already established start-up as well as several business plan competitions, which could provide the seed money to start their own company. Barcelona School of Management will implement an environment in which engineers, scientists, designers and business students interact so as to lay the foundations for this to happen.

• Learn how to transform innovation into business opportunities: How to go from a new idea to a business idea.
• Then be able to transform that business opportunity into a business plan that is easily understandable and with a clear bottom line.
• Develop the entrepreneurial skills in leadership and management connected to those of an innovative manager: creativity, risk seeking, talent management, opportunity identification.
• Acquire the functional knowledge to execute the business plan effectively: talent identification, marketing strategising, supply chain management and fundraising (from public and private sources).
  

This MSc is aimed at recent university graduates in engineering, science or arts and design who have an interest in learning how to be an innovation driven manager: Experts in management that have the ability to start new ventures from innovation either within a company (business development) or as a new company (entrepreneurship). It is particularly suited to university graduates that already have some sort of business idea (even if not fully developed) and a maximum of three years of experience. This programme will give them the opportunity to develop the idea, test it and implement it in two different start-up incubators: UPF´s business factory and Tecnocampus. A sufficient level of English is required.
