Academic contents

The degree consists of four core courses: two in analytical tools (statistics and managerial accounting) and two in management theory (marketing and organisational behaviour). Students can additionally choose one of three specialisation tracks: Strategy, Operations Research and Marketing.

Core courses:

  1. Analytical Tools:
    • Applied Statistics
    • Managerial Accounting and Finance
  2. Management theory:
    • Marketing
    • Organisational Behaviour

Specialisation Tracks:

(Choice of 3 out of 4 courses by track – double specialisation possible)

Tracks:

1. Strategy:

    • Business Strategy
    • Analytical Tools for Strategic Decision-Making
    • Quantitative Methods in Management
    • Behavioural Economics

2. Operations Management:

    • Operations Management
    • Quantitative Methods in Management
    • E-commerce/Internet
    • Business Strategy

3. Marketing:

    • Marketing Analytics
    • Consumer Behaviour
    • Marketing Research
    • Internet Marketing

Two extra classes can be selected from a broad choice:

  • Business Economics
  • Rationality and Ethical Values

Others: Finance courses from Master in Finance, Marketing courses from Master in Marketing.

Qualification and Academic Value

Degree: Upon successful completion of the programme, students will receive a Master of Science degree in Management awarded by Pompeu Fabra University.

ECTS: 60*
* European Credit Transfer System. 1 ECTS credit is equal to a total of approximately 25 hours' student study time, including classes and individual coursework.
