MSc in ICT Strategic Management

Academic contents

The Master of Science in IT Strategic Management (MUISM) starts with two parallel courses (1A and 1B), consisting of a number of compulsory subjects, and includes an internship period and a final project in an area of management that allows students to focus the MSc in the direction they have chosen.

First Term (20 ECTS)

  • IA: Management for engineers/mathematicians

  • IB: ICT skills for business people/economists
    • Project Management
    • ICT sector and value chains
    • Networking services and infrastructures
    • Information Systems and business intelligence

Second Term (20 ECTS) Tools for Management

    • Supply Chain Management and Technology
    • Information Technology for Marketing
    • Management Science and Business Information Systems
    • Enterprise Resource Planning systems for Business
    • Knowledge Management Systems

Third Term (20 ECTS) Business Strategy

    • Technology Strategy
    • Business Change Management
    • Entrepreneurship/Technology and innovation management
    • E-Business Technology and Management

Fourth Term (30 ECTS) Internship/Mobility and MSc thesis

    • Internship in a leading company
    • MSc final thesis and defence

Qualification and Academic Value

Once students have completed the programme, they will receive an MSc in IT Strategic Management from the Pompeu Fabra University and the Ministry of Education.

ECTS: 90*

*European Credit Transfer System. 1 ECTS credit is equal to a total of approximately 25 hours student study time, including classes and individual coursework.
