A pool of resources

The Pompeu Fabra University Library is both unique and accessible. With over 500,000 volumes and 14,800 journals, it is available on five sites all less than 20 minutes from IDEC by public transport. It is open 360 days a year from 8 am to 2 am, with worldwide access to information via the Internet. Its services are available at the IDEC Documentation Centre where basic bibliographies for all programmes taught at the centre are available for consultation.

Just like home

To give participants from outside Catalonia the warmest welcome possible and to help them settle into the country and the institution in the most effective way possible, IDEC provides a Welcome Service. By means of information provided both in group sessions and individually they can get suitable support before and during their stay.

IDEC's central office has always been linked to education and culture and is situated in the centre of Barcelona, in the heart of the Eixample, the central business district, a privileged setting due to its dynamism and its unbeatable accessibility and connections to the public transport system.

Designed to offer top quality services, the building is equipped with the latest technological advances. Several computer and editing rooms, a modern auditorium which can seat 200 people and classrooms, meeting rooms and study rooms, a cafeteria and break areas -one of them with a terrace with splendid views of the city-, together with complementary services for every need and impeccable attention, all make a stay here a unique experience. Due to their specialisation, some programmes are also taught in other buildings which form part of the University and which are situated in different parts of the city.

World wide connected

Facilities and services relating to Information Technology and Systems are of incalculable value to the learning process. At UPF these include the WI-FI network installed throughout the building, free Internet access and the Global Campus, with on line access to materials, resources and the virtual community of participants and teaching staff.
