Methodology

The methodology of our online programme will put students at the centre of the learning process because it offers access to information, a process of continuous assessment and an environment of guided didactic exchange.

In order to do so, IDEC provides students with a virtual learning setting in which active participation is made possible through a virtual campus, and in which the learning process is organised around three elements: self-study materials, distance learning and continuous, individual assessment.

Virtual Learning Setting

The participant

As engineers in their own learning process participants can organise their study time, evaluate their progress, interact with other participants and access information whenever and however is best adapted to their own circumstances.

Virtual campus

The virtual campus is an inter-relational environment in which the programme will be developed. Simple and straightforward to use, it will be accessible via the internet, and will be the doorway to teaching materials and resources and to communication tools which will allow contact between participants, tutors, directors, etc.

Self-study materials

The accurate, rigorous didactic treatment of the contents will make them easy to use and understand. Self-study materials will allow students to acquire new knowledge, to analyse and relate the knowledge they acquire, to apply this knowledge to professional practice as well as encourage them to make further progress.

Distance learning

From the very start the programme tutor will be there to accompany and guide participants and to provide solutions and encourage communication between participants. The tutor will be available to participants at all times, accompanying them and leading them on their way as the programme develops.

Continuous and individual assessment

From time to time we will carry out evaluation procedures so as to check that the aims of the programme are being followed and to allow both teachers and participants to evaluate its use.
