Argentina Delegation

In November, 2003 IDEC opened a local office in Buenos Aires with the aim of consolidating its international presence and to serve as a link with other Latin American countries.

Business Advisory Board

The Business Advisory Board, which was set up in October, 2005, brings Argentine, Spanish and multi-national companies together to promote the image of IDEC-UPF in Argentina and publicize its activities there.

Activities

03/10/08 Postgraduate programme in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication

A second edition of this programme is also due to go ahead from March to July, 2009. On this occasion, it will be taught in a semi-onsite format, also in Buenos Aires. IDEC will be organising this postgraduate programme together with the Fundación Instituto Leloir and Todo Noticias, and it will also be sponsored by Fundación Carolina Argentina, Fundación Noble and Novartis Argentina.

15/09/08 Radio Continental from Barcelona

From 15 to 19 September, 2008, this Argentine radio station offered live broadcasts of their programme "La Mañana" from Barcelona, thanks to the joint efforts of the UPF and Barcelona Tourist Board. During the five days it was broadcast it covered topics of interest in the fields of education and tourism. Josep Joan Moreso, UPF rector, Pau Verrié, director of IDEC and José García Montalvo, director of the Department of Economics and Business at the UPF, were some of the personalities who took part in the broadcast.

17/07/08 "Diario Argentino" Premiere

July 17th of this year saw the premiere in Argentina of the documentary film "Diario Argentino", directed by Lupe Pérez, a Masters student in Making Documentaries at Pompeu Fabra University. The idea for the film originated as part of the Masters in Creative Documentary Making at IDEC-UPF, with production by Imposible Films (Spain), and co-production by Rizoma Films (Argentina) and with the support of Canal Plus and TV3 Cataluña (Spain), and INCAA (Argentina). This documentary was awarded the Young Jury’s Prize at the Visions du Rel de Nyon Festival (Switzerland).

19/06/08 Postgraduate programme in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication

On 19 June, 2008 the first edition of the Postgraduate programme in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication was started in Buenos Aires, organised jointly by Fundación Instituto Leloir and Todo Noticias and with sponsorship by Fundación Carolina Argentina, Fundación Noble and Novartis Argentina.
